Meet Officer Roberts
Hello, my name is Jake Roberts. I grew up in Tinley Park, IL which is a suburb south of Chicago. Go Cubs! I attended Eastern Illinois University where I got my Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminology and Environmental Studies. While attending college, I was a member of the Men’s Swim Team (Division 1). After college, I was hired by ECPD where I then attended the police academy at CVTC. I’ve been with the Eau Claire Police Department for the past 8 years where my main duty was a patrol officer. In the department, I’m a firearms instructor/armorer, training officer, and a member of the Regional SWAT Team.
Me and my wife, Sydney, welcomed our first child in the summer of 2024. If I’m not at home hanging out with the family you can find me on the water fishing for the illusive musky. Fishing has been a passion of mine since I could remember. Fishing was the one of the reasons why I came to Wisconsin after college.
I’m very excited to continue my career as the School Resource Officer at Delong Middle School. I truly believe SROs have a positive impact for all students. I look forward to meeting and working with all the wonderful staff and students here at Delong.
